LOCATION: Oxygen Gardens

SUMMARY: Stuff happens with alien mermaid and alien hunter.

While Neri is glad she has a place to be in in The Tranquility, she misses the real sea life. The salt water, the fishes, everything that made the sea actually alive. In the Oxygen Gardens, where she has decided to settle in (her room is completely abandoned), there is a lot of water you can swim in, but it's not the same thing. There are no creatures that she can play with. Sure, there are a lot of things she can explore, but it's not the same.

With a couple of strokes towards land, Neri emerges from underwater, sitting on the edge. She brushes her hair back and kicks her legs idly in the water, looking around. It's a nice place, but it isn't home and that's a little sad.

[He passes by her, apple in his hand, sunglasses over his eyes, humming a song he learned from an eight year old boy in a distant dimension. Moniz doesn't remember his name, but he does recall that the song was passed on to him after he successfully saved his pet from the jaws of a giant Jade Crocodile as a gesture of gratitude. It's one of those things that follow him around without any particular meaning. If anything, it's just an memorable melody with an entertaining story attached to it.]

Evening, milady, [He announces without any particular commitment to the words, jovial in tone.] Hope I'm not interrupting anything.

[ It's true that Neri understands that she isn't home anymore, she knows this isn't an isolated island, untouched by Man (although, to be fair, it doesn't really feel like Man made any part of this ship either), but she still expects privacy and isolation from others. It was already scary enough when people piled up in the Oxygen Gardens and she had to move her nest elsewhere, so she has had enough of outside contact for the month. Alas, it does not always works the way she likes it because there's whistling - human one, not from the bugs and certainly not from a bird. Neri stands up and looks around, a frown on her face as she sort of takes a step back, ready to jump back in the water.

The man who approaches her is odd - an adult and not like Jason at all. Very tall, big eyebrows. It's the whistling source, Neri notices, and she tilts her head, unfamiliar with the song.

Then, he addresses her. Neri doesn't make a sound, but she's staring. Finally, she speaks: ] Are you from the ship?

Not at all, darling, just in it. [He grins briefly, scratching his nape.] Why, are you?
