I hear the train a-comin / It's rollin round the bend [ooopen]
CHARACTERS: Edgeworth and the Murderettes
LOCATION: The brig, yar har
WARNINGS: Edgeworth is an emo asshole
SUMMARY: So Edgeworth is in the brig on his own insistence for a murder he didn't commit. Come make fun of him! Throw things! Pay $2 for a bag of peanuts to feed him!
NOTES: Can happen between the 17th and the 20th. If you can't get him to talk, present: badge.
[Edgeworth doesn't look up when people come to see him. He just keeps looking at his hands, quiet and still; he says little. Still, he hasn't put in a request for no visitors, and he won't; it's less from a desire for company than from a desire for people to be able to see he's getting no special treatment. In the brig, like any other criminal, no matter that he was until recently the one guarding it.
He's in his suit still. He looks exhausted.]

[It all just seems like a big dramatic waste of time to him, but then again, that's Edgeworth in a nutshell, in his opinion.]
no subject
[He asks that quietly.]
no subject
no subject
[He says that with a bit too much firmness - like, indeed, he's trying to convince himself.]
Their backgrounds don't matter; their intentions do. And that's why I'll answer only to their official investigations.

Anyway, you bein' in here's pretty damn pointless. Means you gotta have someone in here guarding the place all the time, when they could be out doin' patrols, right? 'Cause everyone knows you couldn't kill a guy, even if you wanted to.
no subject
Do you know what evidence there is against me?
no subject
[Not that he expects Edgeworth to actually do that. Turning himself in as a suspect is one thing, but intentionally explaining why the evidence is incriminating would be a little bit much.]
no subject
No.

[He looks down at the ground.]
If I'm guilty, they'll find as much.
no subject
[He's pretty certain that has to be an impossibility, but wouldn't it just be delightful if the kid really had finally snapped and killed someone?]
Tell you what. If you're guilty, I'll throw you a party. Welcome to adulthood an' all that.
no subject
Shut up. This isn't - It's not funny.
no subject
[He sighs, then lifts his flask off his hip to have a drink.]
Have fun in there.
no subject
[He bursts out with that, temper once again overwhelming the mire of his complacent depression.]
I'm - I'm doing what's right.
no subject
[Enough of this, though. He's seen all he wanted to see, and his flask needs a refill. He raises it as if in a toast, then turns to leave.]
Well, seeya when they get tired of you playin' criminal an' kick you out.
