Emma hasn’t forgotten the way Raven tried to corner her on Arima: would you have helped me if you knew what I was? There’s not a lot of faith there, and Emma has a hard time blaming her. The world’s rarely kind to people who are different.
All she can do is hope that her refusal of Nuala and her discomfort with what Charles had done on that very same colony weren’t being read as the loathing he’s afraid of. For Emma, the worst part of it is that despite her feelings of betrayal, she can’t loathe him. She cares for him far too much to ever loathe him.
And, more importantly, it was his choices that had caused her to distrust him—not the existence of his ability to begin with. Once, she had found a way to consider it a balm for how disconnected she tries to make herself.
Sensing an end to the conversation in his final words, she doesn’t push further. Instead, she gets to her feet, leaving it at that. Maybe she’ll talk to Raven about it.
"Let me know if you change your mind."

This at that first part, quiet and quick enough that perhaps its just filler. Or avoidant. It's his fault for bringing her up in the first place if so. Emma is standing, though, and Charles can feel extant tension beginning to lessen, as if he'd been holding onto something for the entirety of her stay.
He doesn't rise to see her out, just tracks progress. "Of course." This is where he should thank her for visiting, probably, easy politeness that had peppered his language before to the point of meaningless now suddenly feeling too weighty. Instead; "Let me know if you change yours."

Emma just shakes her head as she makes her way to the door, raising a hand over her shoulder to wave back at him while she excuses herself. She doesn’t say anything else because there’s nothing else to be said.
Welcome to the impasse, hope you enjoy your stay.
