The Wedding of Bill & Laura

CHARACTERS: The Roslins, Leia Organa, Bail Organa, and basically everyone ever.
LOCATION: Oxygen Gardens!
WARNINGS: To be updated, but general merriment? Marriage?
SUMMARY: Laura and Bill are finally getting married! Come celebrate, even if you don't know them. NO CYLONS ALLOWED.
NOTES: Cylons better actually arrive.

It was as beautiful a day in space as you could get, the day Laura and Bill deigned to get married. The Oxygen Gardens were decked out in chairs, flowers (blue, purple and white), and a beautiful arch for the two of them to get married under. It's a down-right Presidential affair. Or as close to it as you can get.

Before the ceremony itself, there's time to mingle, and afterwards, there will of course be food and dancing, supplied by the various people on the Tranquility.

Almost Everyone is invited, because, well, it's about frakkin' time we had a reason to celebrate on this ship.

"Bail!" Laura greets him by pulling him close, her arms around his neck as she gives him a friendly kiss on the cheek. "You do as well," she says, pulling back to get a better look at him.

She can't stop grinning. "I can't thank you enough for doing this for me. And for being here."

He hugs her quickly. Her sheer joy is utterly contagious. Of course, he was utterly delighted for them anyway. Even a blind man would be able to see how in love those two are with each other. "No one is going to be looking at me, I assure you." Not when she was positively radiant.

"There's nowhere else I would rather be today." He's still honoured that she's chosen him to be part of such an important event.

"Not even back at your desk?" She offers, pulling back, unable to stop herself from smiling. She doesn't want to stop, anyway.

"I really can't thank you enough for being here for me today, Bail. For agreeing to do this. You and Leia both mean so much to me. And that she would let me borrow her dress on top of it all!"

"I think my desk will find a way to manage without me just this once." It probably had separation anxiety. But he was confident in his desk's ability to endure this hardship.

"You deserve nothing but happiness today. Anything we can do to help." This was very different from his own wedding day. But he hopes it's just as happy.

"And might I offer you the same thing?" Anything to help him and Leia at any point. They were both doing her huge favors, and she was thoroughly in their debt.

"When the ceremony is over, I'm going to have a drink with you."

"A drink is all I would dream of asking you today." He would keep her offer in mind, of course. But today was about her and her admiral. And she deserved nothing but the best. And as far as he's concerned, if he's standing in for the father of the bride he should do everything in his power to arrange that.

"Then a drink it is." That was easy to do. The alcohol was free-flowing, and obviously, the bar was open. Bail had gone above and beyond what she'd expected of being his coworker, prompting him to move from that to a friend, one of her dearest.

"And possibly, if it comes to it, a dance. If we were with the fleet, I'm sure a good number of officers would want to dance with either myself or Bill-" the mental image of Kara dancing with Bill was nothing short of heartwarming. If not hilarious, as they both had mustaches in her mental image- "but we seem to be severely lacking those." She won't force him to do the father daughter dance thing. That was going too far.

"A dance would also be wonderful." He was used to far more dancing than they tend to see on Tranquility. It wouldn't be a palace without the occasional royal ball. "I suspect you'll both have no shortage of partners all the same."

"Bill will have to fight potential partners off, I'm afraid." But she smiles, leaning her shoulder against Bail appreciatively. "But I'll make sure you find yourself on my dance card."

"I'm honoured. Dances with the bride or groom are always highly coveted." And why shouldn't dances with the bride be? He didn't know the groom well, but Laura had earned his utmost respect.
