The Wedding of Bill & Laura
CHARACTERS: The Roslins, Leia Organa, Bail Organa, and basically everyone ever.
LOCATION: Oxygen Gardens!
WARNINGS: To be updated, but general merriment? Marriage?
SUMMARY: Laura and Bill are finally getting married! Come celebrate, even if you don't know them. NO CYLONS ALLOWED.
NOTES: Cylons better actually arrive.
It was as beautiful a day in space as you could get, the day Laura and Bill deigned to get married. The Oxygen Gardens were decked out in chairs, flowers (blue, purple and white), and a beautiful arch for the two of them to get married under. It's a down-right Presidential affair. Or as close to it as you can get.
Before the ceremony itself, there's time to mingle, and afterwards, there will of course be food and dancing, supplied by the various people on the Tranquility.
Almost Everyone is invited, because, well, it's about frakkin' time we had a reason to celebrate on this ship.

BEFORE THE CEREMONY
Re: BEFORE THE CEREMONY
"Laura, you look wonderful." It's slightly strange to see her in Leia's clothing. But as happy as she looks, anything would be perfect.

She can't stop grinning. "I can't thank you enough for doing this for me. And for being here."
no subject
"There's nowhere else I would rather be today." He's still honoured that she's chosen him to be part of such an important event.

THE CEREMONY
"Lords of Kobol," she muttered, before taking her first step down the aisle towards her husband-to-be. "I'm getting married."

He drinks in the sight, memorizing the way her hair falls just so. The way the her dress moves as she walks toward him. The look in her eyes and he can tell she's thinking of the same thing he is.
They're getting married.

But, what she wants most of all, is to marry William Adama, handsome in his dress-uniform, complete with his metals and bars and awards. Another familiar piece of what had been home before here.
It's too long, but she finally steps up to the altar, nodding at Bail as she leaves him for Bill. Holding her bouquet still, her eyes are as bright as any teenager's ever would be, and she can hardly stop herself from bouncing. "Hi," she finally manages to whisper to Bill, reaching out for one of his hands.

But watching the way that the normally stoic Bill Adama is practically grinning like a schoolboy and the giddy hint in Laura's step makes it difficult to really be upset. She'd agreed to do this for the other woman, and no amount of jealousy or anger at whomever placed that crap in her locker and Han Solo would change that.
And seeing the way the reach for each other like a lifeline is very endearing. These two are definitely made for the one another. "Are you both ready?"

DINNER
There is no algae.

So there's a boy sitting at one of the tables with a big plate of various foods before him, slowly but with determination emptying that plate. He stops every once in a while and just people watches, listens in to conversations, follows the same person with his eyes for a while, and just enjoys the general merriment around him. It is nice when people are lively.

He hasn't been straying from Laura very far, but they have a lot of guests to speak with. So he approaches the boy, still looking quite well put together in his full dress uniform. "Having a good time?"
no subject
"It is very lively and happy."

ota
Taking a bite of something on a stick, she tries to look over the heads of the crowd, wondering who else was here. Knowing how much Bill disliked Leoben, there was zero chance that her machine friend would be here. But a girl could hope.
She could also hope that Simon would arrive any minute to whisk her on to the dance floor but even that seemed too far-fetched.
Re: ota
Especially since she's in a particularly good mood, since she just loves weddings. "Isn't this great?"
no subject
"Darn right. Ain't never been to a wedding like this one!" She'd witnessed Mal get married. Accidentally. But no one talked about that ever. "Well, not since I was real little, but not since I grew up."

"It was a lovely ceremony and that's a pretty dress. Didn't think we could get something like that while on board."
no subject
"You'd be surprised if you're here long enough. This was hardly the first wedding, either." She'd heard about the Deaths.

DANCING
OTA
Dressed in his best — that's the clothes he arrived in, basically — he spends a good amount of time with a glass in one hand and his other hand plunged into the pocket of his trousers to keep him from fidgeting too much. He's people-watching and quietly contemplating his place in the universe (which happens to be lightyears and lightyears from where it used to be in more ways than one).
And, in fact, he probably wouldn't say anything to anyone if he hadn't just seen someone drop a drink moments before. "Hey, hey, watch your step," he says to one person in passing. The night will be full of helpful, handy hints like that.

However, now with the ceremony completed and the food eaten, there are plenty of people dancing. And well, you could say that he's hiding. He watches, smiling wistfully at those sweeping across the dance floor. It reminds him of others, whose presence he misses dearly and who would goad him into dancing with them regardless to protests.
A perfect target one could say, to have the exact thing done to him now.

"you are here as well! come! you must dance with me! Michel shall not mind as we are good friends, are not?" she's dressed as prettily as she can, hair curled with ribbons, in one of the beautiful dresses that Jehan and Reynaud had gifted her when she arrived. "and if you say no, I shall be sad and question if I am not pretty for you." Michel said she was beautiful. more than that: he made her feel beautiful. it was quite nice.

"Love is so beautiful," she managed, a brightness in her eyes left over from the ceremony. She'd cried. Don't tell anyone. "And the gardens." She paused for a moment, looking up at Michel. "Would we ever get married, my love?"
