The Wedding of Bill & Laura
CHARACTERS: The Roslins, Leia Organa, Bail Organa, and basically everyone ever.
LOCATION: Oxygen Gardens!
WARNINGS: To be updated, but general merriment? Marriage?
SUMMARY: Laura and Bill are finally getting married! Come celebrate, even if you don't know them. NO CYLONS ALLOWED.
NOTES: Cylons better actually arrive.
It was as beautiful a day in space as you could get, the day Laura and Bill deigned to get married. The Oxygen Gardens were decked out in chairs, flowers (blue, purple and white), and a beautiful arch for the two of them to get married under. It's a down-right Presidential affair. Or as close to it as you can get.
Before the ceremony itself, there's time to mingle, and afterwards, there will of course be food and dancing, supplied by the various people on the Tranquility.
Almost Everyone is invited, because, well, it's about frakkin' time we had a reason to celebrate on this ship.

If it helped, the last time Combeferre had danced had been at a party Courfeyrac had strongarmed him into attending, and he had spent the parts of it where he couldn't hide in 'conversation' by the punchbowl stomping on the toes of various great aunts, third cousins, and the like. Or...something along those lines. He had been terribly embarrassed by the whole thing, and stammered his way out at last to hide with some like minded others. And desperately jealous of Feuilly for the only time in their acquaintance because he had gotten out of it without a second thought from anyone.
"Hardly perfect." He assured her, laughing as he moved to spin her, and, somehow, narrowly avoided bumping into another couple. "Ah, proof."

A statement which sets him both to blushing and to laughing in about the same breath. It doesn't help with his balance much, but Combeferre is grinning as he manages to maneuver them into a corner where he can kiss her a bit more properly. "Well, then. So long as the lady is satisfied."
no subject
"it is one of many reasons that she speaks of marrying you."
no subject
Combeferre said, and as strange as the language might at first have seemed coming from his mouth, so Romantic, he could not think that anything else could do for romantic moments of the other sort. He may stumble a little, with the intricacies of it, but he tried.
"And such a lady as all of that, to woo a philosopher who never imagined this was coming." He'd been too much attached to practicalities in Paris. Leaving them behind for the moments like this felt good.
no subject
"A philosopher!" She gasped, spinning under his arms. "What a lucky lady she is! A philosopher, a doctor, a revolutionary. To think she never saw it coming, either!"
no subject
"So many things." Comebeferre laughed, giving her an extra twirl. "I never considered those before. But I am glad to have them now. And more importantly..." He paused, leaning in to whisper. "Now a lover. I think that I like that one best of all."
no subject
certainly helped.
"And the lady? Well, she is a lady to start with. That is a new and strange thing."
no subject
"Then the philosopher must naturally see to it that she is reminded that she deserves to be treated in such a way. Every day."
no subject
Eponine, at his words, blushes further still, leaning her head against his chest. All the while she tries to make eye-contact with him. The result is a bit uncomfortable, but she's content.
"Then he is the best man on board of this ship, and among all the stars that they sale through." She murmurs the words, her hands holding him tighter, knuckles white as she practically stops dancing in order to better hold him. So that he can hold her. Because this cannot be real.
no subject
That is certainly true, when you think about it, yes.
Eye-contact is definitely good right now, and Combeferre has to grin at her blush. It makes her look so pretty too, and well, for once he's not the only one feeling a bit flushed. He likes that idea, really. Of course, then he's going scarlet at her next words altogether.
"I...thank you. I suppose it only fair I have the best lady on board then, don't you?"
no subject
Before he can think she's joking, she leans in to kiss him, pulling back and grinning as wide as she ever has before.
no subject
"Because," He's leaning down to claim her lips with more force than before, not to hurt, but in passion, and when he speaks again, his voice is lower, and much deeper. "I have done my share of getting to know others here, and I have never found another like you. I think that says very much."
He's grinning then too, then rubbing his nose against hers.
"It says that you are the best, clearly." Or at least the best for him. Same difference, quite honestly.
no subject
"I love you, Michel." What else was there to say to that?
no subject
His own eyes spark a little there as he tugs her flush against him for a long moment, a hand slowly traveling to trace along her collarbone. What else IS there to say, really? And is it him or is it getting hot in here?
no subject
Eponine watches his hand, enjoys the feeling of him tracing over her skin and bones.
This, she thought, was how Marius looked at Cosette. How he touched her. But this was not Marius. This was Michel Combeferre, and this was how he looked at her. He loved her. And this was how it was to be loved.
"I could look at you looking at me for the rest of my life."
no subject
Perhaps it was how he looked at her, yes. He'd had the look himself, before, learned what to do with it and now? It was refined, he thought, as his hand wandered a bit lower, though he slowly eased it to her waist instead.
"Could you only look, my dear one? I had some other suggestions in mind."
no subject
Granted, Eponine was far from prude even then.
But, the rush, the taboo of it, it was all still there.
Her eyes were dark and wide as the room faded around them. "Look? Yes. But if you had a better idea, then I, m'sieur doctor, am open to suggestions."
no subject
And yes, the familiarity was exhilarating, more than anything else. To be so free! It was astounding.
"Such an idea would involve finding somewhere secluded of course..." He purred, particularly at the use of 'doctor' there. He couldn't help that, really.
no subject
Perhaps he would kiss her below again.
"If we are found, say you are simply making sure that I am alright, as you are, indeed, a doctor." She could tell how he liked that title.
no subject
"Someplace exciting, yes. I believe we could find it." He forgets to fear the corridors even, at the impact of her words. And oh, he loves the address so much. He'd been so nearly there once, after all.
"Ah, yes, I COULD say that. And some examinations must, be nature, be quite thorough." he agrees, taking her hand and kissing it before trailing his way back up her elbow before taking that hand for good.
"Let us find such a place to go exploring, then."
no subject
"Then let us adventure," she says, giggling as each kiss tickles the sensitive skin of her arms. "You shall lead the way, but if we must stop for some examinations... then I shall listen to the advice of you, my good, handsome doctor." Yeah, she really liked the way he looked at her when she called him that.
"Yes, I will keep calling you that. It brightens up your smile."
no subject
"Ah, good. I HAVE noticed that, here, you know." He added, grin growing. "So many people are so happy for us. Nicer than it might have been at home, isn't it?" It's a wonderful feeling, and he's smiling as he proceeds to lead her away.
"Ah, I love you so, my Eponine. My beautiful and smart Eponine who has taught me so much." Because she had. And it wasn't all the inspirational lessons that you could learn from someone on the wrong side of the tracks either. With Eponine, he had learned the value of being honest at once, of listening to others, and of staying strong and true no matter what came. And how much he loved being addressed such too, if that one counted.
"Your doctor must see to you then, my dear."
no subject
"I love you, too, my handsome, kind, Michel. Kinder than any others I have known, and more fair." She gave him a knowing glance before edging towards the outskirts of the dance floor.
"And I thank him for seeing me so urgently."
